February 26, 2009I WANT THAT!: Smittens![]() WHERE: http://www.uncommongoods.com WHY: There's nothing like holding hands with a super-hot dude while you're strolling thorough the park in the wintertime—except when said dude has dry skin and his fish net-like cracks dig into the palms of your hands, causing them to bleed, swell and pulsate in pain. Sure, maybe that's an extreme case, but nonetheless, scaly mits are a major turn-off. Enter these Recycled Fleece Smittens. (That's right—smittens!) If you're a couple of crazy, hand-holding kids, each person gets a solo smitten and then one smitten to share together, thus keeping your hands safe from the winter elements that wreak havoc on your paws. These snuggle buddies come in navy and red, and are even washing-machine safe. You never know when you're gonna get your hands dirty, right? HOW MUCH: $35 Now that you know what I want, tell me what YOU want!! You never know when our obsessions are going to cross paths...

Why are British people so awesome? Not only do they have amazing accents and cutting-edge style, but they're totally into giving stuff away. Yup, that's right. Pick up the latest issue of NME (the one with White Lies on the cover) and you'll get an exclusive album filled with Cure cover songs. Wednesday, we're in love.

February 20, 2009"Twilight" Round-Up: New Stuff About "New Moon"
How is Robert Pattinson spending his last weeks of free time before hoofing it up to Canada to start production on New Moon? Which member of The Jonas Brothers is looking into getting canine-extension surgery? Why are we still talking about AnnaLynne McCord? All good questions demanding equally good answers.

February 19, 2009I WANT THAT!: Stuck Up Chewed Gum Magnet![]() WHERE: http://www.amazon.com WHY: I'm very picky when it comes to magnets. No, really. Despite popular belief, all magnets are not created equal. It took me years to accumulate my current collection, which includes impressive sets from Tim Gunn, Harajuku Lovers and BlueQ. Sometimes, when I'm deathly bored, I even think about moving my fridge into the living room, setting up spotlights and hosting a magnetic art exhibit because my iron-based artifacts don't seem to be getting enough attention in the corner of the kitchen. Not since I uncovered a plastic teeth clip have I been this excited about a magnet. (How sad is my life?) These Stuck Up Chewed Gum Magnets give new meaning to ABC (that's "already been chewed," for anyone not in the know) wads of bubbly goodness. Each package contains four savory flavors—bubble gum, spearmint, peppermint, and tutti-frutti. Plus, you've gotta give mad props to these lil' guys for being so life-like. Why, they look even good enough to eat. Caveat emptor: Do not take a bite out of these glistening gobs because you might lose a filling... Not like I know or anything... Does anyone know the name of a good dentist? HOW MUCH: $5.49 Now that you know what I want, tell me what YOU want!! You never know when our obsessions are going to cross paths...

February 18, 2009Rockstar Taste Of Chaos Kicks Off In Hollywood
If there's one thing I learned from attending the first stop of this year's Rockstar Taste Of Chaos Tour, it's to get there early! I had planned things out perfectly—or so I thought—but I couldn't have been more wrong. See, when my bros Aaron and Norman asked me to go to dinner at El Compadre before the show, I was worried immediately. I didn't know if I'd have enough time to spare and there was no way I was missing openers like Cancer Bats or Pierce The Veil. However, when they said the joint had flaming margaritas, I became putty in their hands and my plan was officially poxed.
Needless to say, I missed FYT and PTV. I also missed Four Year Strong... And Bring Me The Horizon... And, well, the first couple songs from Thursday. Basically, I'm a bonehead. Please don't make the same mistake I did and get distracted by fiery drinks and mariachi bands. ![]() Photo courtesy of DerekX What I did happen to see of Thursday was totes compelling, though. They fired through new songs like "Resuscitation Of A Dead Man," off their latest album Common Existence, which came out last Tuesday on Epitaph Records, and old anthems like "Signals Over The Air" from War All The Time, which happens to be my personal fave. Although this was only day one of RTOC, frontman Geoff Rickly was in peak form. He sounded amazing and covered every inch of the stage—and maybe a couple of the first few rows in front of him—with sweat. I'd totally be crying in a corner right now because I was late to the party if not for the fact that I'll be rejoining the Tour in New York City and traveling with the Taste-tastic circus for a couple days. Woot woot!! As you can imagine, I'm stoked beyond words. When I'm on the road, I'll be reporting round-the-clock, so expect a ton of updates and behind-the-scene goodies. In the meantime, though, Buzznet's own Mark Oshiro (PanasonicYouth) will be out on the Tour starting this Saturday, February 22 in Denver, Colorado. If you see him scurring around with a fancy-pants camera, be sure to tap him on the shoulder, say 'sup and strike a pose. Also, stay tuned to our off-the-chain Rockstar Taste Of Chaos page for band interview, original photography and concert reviews from us and, more importantly, you! Simon out.

February 17, 2009I WANT THAT!: Donutella Figure![]() WHERE: http://www.tokidoki.it WHY: For those who don't know, Tokidoki is a Japanese-inspired brand of clothing, toys, art and accessories designed by French artist Simone Legno. You might recognize the wacky and consecutive prints from off-the-hook collaborations with Lesportsac and Hello Kitty. In my humble opinion, Legno is a genius—I mean, how else could you explain someone who comes up with characters like vampire wrapped candies, pirate bullets and skateboarding milk cartons? It's safe to say that I'm pretty much obsessed with all-things Tokidoki and, up until now, my fave item has got to be my Canguro fanny pack. However, when I saw this pretty lil' princess Donutella Figure, I just about swooned at my desk. Sure, it's obscenely expensive for a toy that's probably just going to sit in it's original packaging on my mantle, but I don't care. The limited-edition Kitty is littered with crystal details and features Tokidoki's signature heart and crossbones, all of which make me a smitten kitten. HOW MUCH: $160 Now that you know what I want, tell me what YOU want!! You never know when our obsessions are going to cross paths...

February 16, 2009Ryan Ross Back On The Market—Sort Of
It's been a busy day in the Buzznet news room. First, Katy Perry is supposedly hooking up with Benji Madden. (It turns out she's not, but it was touch-and-go for a second.) Then, NIN calls it quits. (ElRich is still crying in the corner.) Now Ryan Ross is single again—at least that's what is implied on his maybe-ex-girlfriend's blog. Eff you, Valentine's Day.

NIN Calling It Quits?
In the midst of a million-and-a-half bands reuniting, it looks like one of our favorites is waving the white flag (at the same time that they're celebrating the 20th anniversary of their first release, no less). That said, if you've never seen Nine Inch Nails, you better reserve seats because their upcoming tour might be their last. Freals.

Update: Katy Responds To Dating RumorsWe reported earlier that Katy Perry might possibly could be supposedly maybe dating Benji Madden from Good Charlotte. Howev, looks like we may've put the card before the DCMA horse. I'm tired of rumors starting.

I WANT THAT: Raining Cats 'N Dogs Umbrella![]() ![]() WHERE: http://www.fredflare.com WHAT: I don't know about you, but it's been raining a ton in Los Angeles and I happen to love it—mostly because the temperature has finally shot down below 80 degrees, the sun has gone on hiatus and I get to rock my awesome mod-looking galoshes. Yup, all I need is a cloudy day, a cool breeze and a few scattered rain puddles to put a smile on my face—oh, and this Furry Flurry Umbrella. With the press of a button, this fancypants umbrella ejects to meet all of your rain resistant needs. Plus, when you fold the sucker up, it's small enough to fit in your backpack or tote bag. Score! I'm definitely smitten by things that are about fashion and function: For example, not only would this pretty parosal keep me dry, but it would also make me giggle every time I looked up and and stared into the eyes of these crazy-faced pups and kitties. Mission accomplished. HOW MUCH: $36 Now that you know what I want, tell me what YOU want!! You never know when our obsessions are going to cross paths...

February 2, 2009Review: Katy Perry at The Wiltern on 1/31
I knew I wasn’t at Warped Tour anymore when I spotted Selena Gomez and Perez Hilton in The Wiltern lobby within five minutes of one another Saturday night—and that was totally okay. What I wasn't prepared for was the rest of Katy Perry's audience to look like the cast-offs from Bret Michael's Rock Of Love Bus. Katy Perry rocks the house—sort of.
